DODO HUG - Chanson, Global Folk

She is the grande dame of Swiss cabaret. And never fails to impress with her wit, vocal power, and eloquence in half a dozen languages. Not to mention her overwhelming warmth, as the renowned cultural critic Manfred Papst enthusiastically wrote in the NZZ. Finally, she is coming to Davos to celebrate her 50th stage anniversary: DODO HUG.

DODO HUG's work has always been characterised by her love of song, the living word, and its transformation. The virtuoso linguistic juggler mixes all languages in her musical creations and puts entrenched thought structures to the test with a wink. In her songs, the world shines in all its beauty and contradictions. Whether humourous, poetic, ludicrous, enlightening, or playful: DODO HUG touches and moves. Her own compositions alternate with lively folk songs from Southern Europe and Latin America to Bernese chansons contrasted with ballads and covers from all over Europe. Always at her side: Her congenial, long-standing stage and life partner, the Sardinian-born singer-songwriter and musician EFISIO CONTINI.

At the SONGBIRD FESTIVAL DAVOS, DODO HUG will perform an exclusive best-of concert in a quartet with songs from her current programmes: ‘Cosmopolitana’, ‘Sorriso Clandestino’ and ‘Castiadas’.

Musicians:

LINDA ELYS - Folk Pop

Who doesn’t know the song ‘House On Fire’, which - like a global hit - is on repeat in almost every radio station in Switzerland.

But what very few people know is that the singer and composer of this incredible song, which also topped the Swiss singles charts, is 22-year-old singer-songwriter LINDA ELYS from the canton of Schwyz. That's right, the LINDA ELYS who reached the final of THE VOICE Germany, sang with JAMES BLUNT and finishing in a sensational fourth place whilst becoming this year's SRF Best Talent in March!

Now Linda Elsener, as she was born in Seewen, is coming to the SONGBIRD FESTIVAL DAVOS with her first album. Proving that she is far more than a one-hit wonder nor just a casting show starlet. After all, only a few Swiss artists manage to touch people with such an expressive voice, as the budding primary school teacher can. This gives her songs, which tell of life in an approachable and authentic way, an unmistakable intensity and depth.

We promise an ‘Alpengold on fire’.

‘Linda Elys impresses with her personality, folky-pop songs and great self-confidence.’ - SRF 3

LINDA ELYS will play a double concert with DODO HUG.
